The Multicultural Resource Center proposal aims to establish a dedicated space in Rochester, Minnesota, to foster cultural exchange, support community integration, and enhance access to vital resources for residents from diverse backgrounds. This initiative is spearheaded by ACHLA (Alianza Chicana Hispana and Latinoamericana) in collaboration with the Community Mobilization Resource Coalition (CMRC).

Key Points:

1. Purpose and Vision:

   • The center will serve as a hub for cultural exchange, community integration, and resource access.
   • It aims to make Rochester more welcoming and inclusive for people of different cultural backgrounds.

2. Location and Facility:

   • The proposal requests the City of Rochester to provide the Silver Lake Fire Station for up to five years.
   • ACHLA has secured external funding for necessary renovations, ensuring minimal financial burden on the city.

3. Community Benefits:

   • The center will enhance social and economic inclusion, provide resources for city and business engagement, and strengthen cultural exchange and understanding.
   • It will host various programs, including cultural events, educational workshops, community meetings, business support, youth engagement, health and wellness services, and culinary programs.

The Coalition of Asian American Leaders (CAAL) is thrilled to announce the launch of CAAL Ignite, a new grant program offering $10,000–$15,000 to individuals, nonprofits, and small businesses in Minnesota’s Asian American community.
