JoAnn open the meeting with the net message that says:

"We are piloting what we had agreed upon from our last meeting. We are holding monthly meetings with this one being the first one. We can adjust the operational style if we find that we are not meeting the group objective of:

Our goal (common agenda) is to increase awareness and understanding of public, private, non-profit organizations' plans and needs. We aim to share and identify key community needs and plans so that individually and collectively we will be more effective in carrying out our mission of serving the community.

 


Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) Report and Planning - Pete Giesen

Pete Giesen presented the Community Heath Needs Assessment Plan. His presentation is based on the Executive Summary of the online resources .

 

Takeaway

Focus groups are being formed in each of the 5 above areas to:
    • Formulate actions
    • Leverage and align community partnership efforts

  • General material can be found on the dmc.mn site and also has been reported by the PB. Heidi will forward her material to us later.Heidi Mestad
    • 8 focus areas each is going through community input collection phase
    • Large public forums are planned
  • DMC's data-gathering activities will be the largest community wide requirements collection effort ever in Rochester and surrounding area
    • However, funding/development focuses by EDA and DMCC are downtown-centric
  • There will be items identified in the requirements gathering phase that require community partners to step up to fulfill (see Al Lun's diagram below):

Collaboration Opportunities

  • CPG exchange can serve as an exchange, interlocking forum to identify:
    • Gaps
    • Data points re-uses
    • Align efforts and measurements

West Transit Village Housing City Council

Per PB reporting:

"A final plan for dividing a 14.1-acre Mayo Clinic parking lot into developable sections is expected to be reviewed Monday by the Rochester City Council. The site, being dubbed “West Transit Village,” sits between Second Street Southwest and Cascade Lake. It is currently used as a Mayo Clinic employee shuttle lot, and Mayo Clinic plans to construct a 2,500-stall parking structure."
