This is a historic event in that it is the first all-BIPOC theatre production in the history of the city. The iconic play written by Lorraine Hansberry in 1959 follows the Younger family living in the southside of Chicago.

This event will review wins and losses of the African Heritage Community during the 2023 legislative session and allow community members to provide feedback on preliminary goals and foci for the 2024 legislative session.
